We are proud to have had a great kick-off two weeks ago at our first of four activities bringing together our YCPs from across Europe. We welcomed 30 young people from 9 European countries for a first onboarding and get together. After shortly introducing all candidates to the works of THE CIVICS and a brief get-to-know each other, everyone was invited to learn from each others’ country-specific contexts in the fight against climate change.
Together with our facilitation and all participants we discussed relevant topics of interest within the field of green literacy and tapped into the expectations of candidates.
In the afternoon session, all candidates were asked to work in groups on the fundamental aspects of a project proposal. Here, candidates got to express what they think is needed for a successful communication strategy, a sufficient financial plan as well as how to present a project idea to potential funders convincingly.
After finalising our proposal guidelines we are looking forward to the first project ideas that our YCPs will come up with until our next activity in the beginning of December. Each project idea is meant to fight climate change in the respective communities and raise awareness on topics of green literacy. The most outstanding ideas to fight climate change will get funded by a mini-grant, helping the winners to implement the project in their communities.
